ABOUT OUR SUMMER PROGRAM
Summer Dance at ADC provides programs, classes and workshops for students at every age and every level of dance education – from those with little or no training to those who have had many years of training. Students who dance in the summer will discover a new potential and will master new levels of ability.
Each student at our studio receives personal attention in a welcoming and nurturing environment. ADC's faculty members are highly qualified, caring teachers who are either life-long educators, hold University Degrees or are members of the Dance Educators of America, the Associated Dance Teachers of NJ, National Dance Education Organization or I.D.E.A. the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association.
SUMMER DANCE POLICIES
Non-refundable registration fee: $15.00 per person for new students. The Registration fee and a minimum of 50% of the class fees must be paid at the time of your registration. Any missed classes must be made up during the summer session.
There are no refunds or credits on missed classes.
Any missed classes must be made up during the July summer session in a different class. Please consult the teacher for the proper make up class.

THE FOLLOWING CLASSES MEET 2 TIMES A WEEK FROM JULY 5th through August 8th:
DANCE TOGETHER FOR 2'S & 3'S (WITH MOM, DAD OR GUARDIAN)
Our Dance Together class is designed for children who are not ready to be in class on their own. The class is 30 minutes in length and Mom, Dad or caretaker participates with the child. Music, movement, coordination and social skills are developed in this class. Dance activities include the use of many different types of props, along with fun song and dance routines. 30 minute class meets 2 times a week for 5 weeks
DANCE DISCOVERY CAMP FOR AGES 3 TO 4.5
Our Dance Discovery Camp introduces children to the world of dance in a fun learning environment. The class incorporates movement skills that help to develop a child's coordination, balance, poise and rhythm. Children will experience the joy of dance through song and movement activities. This is a great class to help prepare children for further study of ballet, tap and jazz. 1 hour class meets 2 times a week for 5 weeks
HIP HOP FOR AGES 6-9
Fun, age appropriate hip hop moves, progressions and combinations are taught in this class.
45 minute class – meets 2 times a week for 5 weeks
HIP HOP FOR AGES 10 & UP
This Hip Hop class will include a wide range of styles including breaking, popping, tutting and gliding moves. Combinations and progressions as well as elements of original choreography will be introduced in this fun and engaging dance class. 45 minute class meets 2 times a week for 5 weeks
SALSA FOR AGES 6-9 AND SALSA FOR AGES 10 & UP
Salsa is a popular form of social dance. Basic New York Style on 2 will be taught in this class. The movements of Salsa along with the Salsa music will keep your child, fit, energized and happy!
ADVANCED BEGINNER BALLET AND MODERN WORKSHOP FOR AGES 10 & UP
Our Ballet/Modern workshop includes a ballet class and a modern dance class. Students must have at least 4 to 5 years of experience in Ballet and some Modern Dance experience. In this workshop further development of classical Ballet technique and vocabulary are taught. In Modern the fundamentals of different styles of modern dance will be covered in this workshop. The emphasis in this workshop will be on individual attention and the personal growth of each dancer. This workshop is great for students who want to gain, strength and improve their technique. This workshop is also good for students who are interested in auditioning for performing arts high schools. 2 hour workshop that meets 2 times a week for 5 weeks
THE FOLLOWING CLASSES MEET 1 TIME A WEEK:
PRINCESS & PRINCE BALLET DANCE CAMP for ages 5-7
Each week a different Ballet Princess or Prince from a famous classical ballet or movie will be emphasized. Dancers will learn ballet steps and terminology. The use of classical music, storytelling, props and a craft will engage your young dancer’s mind and body. 1.25 hour class meets 1 time a week for 5 weeks
ADC's SUMMER STARZ for ages 6-9
ADC's Summer Starz program is an introductory class designed for students who are interested in learning about what it is like to be a triple threat -- acting, singing and dancing. This class will concentrate on stage presence, technique, and cultivating a love of theatre! Students will learn about a different aspect of theatre weekly, while also learning a musical theatre number from a Broadway show to present in an informal in the studio demonstration on the last day of class. This program is geared toward boys and girls with little or no previous experience. It is a fun course of study that will introduce your child to the performing arts all in ONE convenient location. 1.5 hours meets 1 time a week for 5 weeks
In this class classical Ballet technique, vocabulary, carriage of the arms and correct body placement and positions are taught. This class meets 1 time a week for 5 weeks
Introduction to the fundamentals of the Limon technique such as fall and recovery, rebound, weight, suspension, succession and isolation will be taught in this class. This class meets 1 time a week for 5 weeks
BALLET TECHNIQUE CLASS with Pointe
For ballet students who have 5 or more years of Ballet training with some pointe work. Stay strong this summer and work on improving all of the elements of ballet technique including your alignment, turnout, lines and pointe work. 1.5 hours meets 1 time a week for 5 weeks
