Partnering is an essential element of most modern dance techniques, and is a fun way to explore teamwork and creativity. Based in principles learned from the world-renowned Pilobolus Dance Theater, this class will introduce students to the fundamentals of partnering, weight sharing, counterbalance, and improvisation in a safe and creative environment. Students will be challenged to think outside the box, and explore what is possible when they work collaboratively with their fellow dancers.

In the first session, students will be lead through various exercises designed to get them comfortable working with other dancers, and exploring the different ways in which they can communicate through movement and touch. As the students get more comfortable, they will be challenged to work collaboratively to create their own material and connections, and explore how they can use these connections in the broader world of modern dance.

1.50 hours – this workshop meets 2 times (July 5 and July 12) $56.00
